Halloween progress: It's live!

The fine people over at BouncyRock have uploaded version one and the fine people over at the Vault have made it public. Go check out the 2008 Halloween collaboration now!

I've only had a chance to get through about half of the submissions. It's very impressive!

Halloween progress: waiting to test

Just got the word that the bouncyRock guys got 25 submissions out of the original 31 responses for the Halloween project. That's so great! It's good to see that many people coming out to contribute and a great sign that the community is still active. They are saying that testing should start this weekend. I'm looking forward to it and so should you!

Halloween progress: done!

Seven minutes before midnight and I just sent in my contribution.

There are probably a few minor things I'd love to polish if I had the chance:
- A few spelling checks
- A few skill checks
- Wrapping up a few optional side quests

I had an idea for an alternate ending where you get to have a few quick battles with some of the suspects, then get to choose who you side with at the end, but that was just a bit too much.

All in all I gave 1000xp. I should also mention that it should be just fine for multiplayer.

Looking forward to seeing how it goes over and what other people did!

Halloween progress: two days left

I've been working furiously on this project, but I just haven't had must new to show. Most of this has been dialog. Currently there are ten conversations that have a good amount of depth. The first is an opening cut scene where the player enters and gets all the information for the rest of the module.

All ten conversations have the basic introductions, backgrounds and questions about the other suspects built. Tomorrow will be the day where I have to actually put in the interactions the build up to the big reveal. I've got a pretty solid plan for that which will keep me from fumbling around in endless logic tests. While you can spend some time talking to everyone, the plan is for the actual solving of the mystery to go quickly once you get a few key threads of conversation going.

From there, I need to wrap up the ending. I have a very solid idea for this that I think will work great and require very little building. We'll have to see. I'm a bit worried about my deadline, but I have the whole day tomorrow to wrap things up.

In other news, I've decided my avatar will be a large skull (the large demi lich model). It's what I've always wanted to be when I grew up. I've attached a screen shot above.
